Note: For all other International antifoulings such as Cruiser Uno EU, Boatguard EU, Ultra EU, Cruiser Polishing Antifouling, Cruiser Premium Plus, Micron Superior, Navigator and Trilux Hard Antifouling, use the Micron Extra EU overcoating times. Overcoating times relate to Brush/Roller application. If maximum overcoating time is exceeded, sand with 180-220 grit wet or dry paper.

APPLICATION AND USE
Preparation:
STEEL: Degrease with solvent or Super Cleaner. Gritblast to Sa 2½ near white metal surface. If gritblasting is not possible, grind the metal surface with 2436 grit abrasive discs to a uniform, clean, bright metal surface with a 50-75 microns anchor pattern. Use angle grinder on small areas.

ALUMINIUM: Degrease with solvent or Super Cleaner. Sand well using 24-120 grade (aluminium compatible) paper.
Coarser grades are recommended to achieve optimum adhesion. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry. Prime using a recommended International primer as soon as possible (within 8 hours) as detailed for specific coating systems.

ZINC/GALVANISED STEEL: Degrease with solvent or Super Cleaner. Sand well using 60-120 grit paper. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry completely. Prime using a recommended International primer as soon as possible (within 8 hours) as detailed for specific coating systems.

STAINLESS STEEL: Lightly gritblast to produce a profile of 50 microns. Clean thoroughly and allow to dry completely. Prime using a recommended International primer as soon as possible (within 8 hours) as detailed for specific coating systems.

LEAD: Degrease with solvent or Super Cleaner. Sand well using 120 grit paper or power wire brush Clean thoroughly and allow to dry. Prime using a recommended International primer as soon as possible (within 8 hours) as detailed forspecific coating systems.

BARE/NATURAL WOOD: Sand smooth with 80-180 and then 280 grit paper. Remove sanding dust by brushing, dusting and wiping. If wiping with solvent then allow to dry completely before applying products recommended for application direct to wood (see specific coating systems).

Method: If filling is required, use appropriate filler after the first coat of Interprotect has been applied. Before painting, remove any dust with a dust cloth. Apply the following number of coats: Steel/Aluminium/Alloy Above 4, Below 5. Lead 5, Wood 3. When used as a tie coat over Interprime 820: 1 coat.

Useful Tips: Mixing: Stir or shake individual components thoroughly. Add Curing Agent to the Base, stir and leave for 10 minutes to allow bubbles to disperse.
Thinner YTA061 Thinners No.7 GTA220
Cleaner Use GTA822 for equipment cleaning.

Other: For maximum performance to be achieved, the curing temperature should be above 10°C/50°F.

Some Important Points: Do not use below 5°C. Do not apply over conventional (one-component) coatings. Do not apply when there is a chance of condensation forming on the substrate. Ambient temperature should be minimum 5°C/41°F and maximum 35°C/95°F.
Product temperature should be minimum 10°C and maximum 35°C. Substrate temperature should be minimum 5°C/41°F and maximum 35°C/95°F.

Compatibility/Substrates: Interprotect can be used on all suitably prepared substrates and epoxy primers. Suitable for stainless steel trim tabs and stern drive gear. It should not be used over any one-component products. Not suitable for use on bronze or mixed alloy propellers.
Number of Coats: 15 by brush/roller depending on substrate and use Coverage
(Theoretical) 9.1 m²/lt by brush
(Practical) 8.1 m²/lt by brush
Recommended dry film thickness (DFT) per coat 50 microns by brush
Recommended wet film thickness (WFT) per coat 111 microns by brush
Application Methods: Brush, Roller
